The Gift of the Elarian
In the early days of the alliance between the elves and the Elarian, a pivotal moment solidified their bond. The Elarian, recognizing the elves’ respect and dedication to preserving the harmony of Loth Ennorath, decided to bestow upon them a gift that would symbolize their unity and shared purpose.
Creation of the Living Throne
The Elarian gathered in a sacred glade deep within the forest, a place where the ancient magic of Loth Ennorath was at its strongest. Here, they performed an ancient and powerful ritual. Using their own essence, they shaped a living throne from the heartwood of the oldest and wisest tree in the forest. This throne was not merely a seat of power but a living entity, imbued with the spirit of the forest.
At the center of this throne, they embedded the Heartstone, a magical crystal formed from the very essence of Loth Ennorath. The Heartstone was a conduit of immense natural power, pulsating with the life force of the forest. It served as a mystical bond between the elves and the Elarian, ensuring that both races would remain eternally connected and could draw strength from each other in times of need.
Presentation to King Faelar
The Elarian’s leader, a venerable being named Aranthor, led a delegation to the elven settlement. In a grand ceremony, they presented the living throne to King Faelar Silverleaf. Aranthor spoke of the deep trust and respect the Elarian held for the elves and expressed their hope that this throne would serve as a symbol of their enduring alliance.
Naming the Throne
The throne was initially named Eldralith, which in the ancient tongue of the Elarian meant “Heart of the Forest.” It was placed in the Great Hall of the elven capital, a constant reminder of the sacred bond between the elves and the forest. Eldralith was more than a symbol; it was a living entity that resonated with the pulse of the forest, its roots intertwined with the very soil of Loth Ennorath.
Powers and Significance of Eldralith
Eldralith had several unique properties that underscored its importance.
Connection to the Forest: The king, while seated on Eldralith, could communicate directly with the Elarian and sense disturbances within the forest. This connection allowed for swift responses to any threats or imbalances.
Healing and Renewal: The Heartstone embedded within the throne had powerful healing properties. It could rejuvenate the land around it, promote growth, and even heal those who were injured or ill, provided they were pure of heart and intent.
Wisdom and Guidance: Eldralith was imbued with the wisdom of the Elarian, offering guidance to the ruler in times of uncertainty. The throne would sometimes emit subtle signals, guiding the king’s decisions for the benefit of both the elves and the forest.
Legacy of Eldralith
The original name, Eldralith, and its story remained a cherished part of elven lore. It was a testament to the unity between the elves and the Elarian, a bond forged in mutual respect and preserved through the ages. The living throne stood as a guardian of this bond, its roots deep in the heart of the forest, its branches reaching towards the future, embodying the spirit of Loth Ennorath and the enduring alliance that protected it.
But with the rise of the Sun Seat, the ancient throne Eldralith, fell into disuse and disrepair and was renamed “The Throne of Thorns”. Forgotten by all but a few, it slowly crumbled away, returning to the earth from which it was born, infusing the very roots of the forest with its essence, waiting for the day when the elves would remember their roots and seek to reconcile with the spirits once more.
As the Luminary Assembly consolidated their power within the Sun Spire and the elven nation flourished under their rule, the memory of the Throne of Thorns faded into myth and legend, a reminder of a time when the elves lived in harmony with nature, before progress and ambition drove them apart.
