The Betrayal of Durzak
One of the five dwarven lords, Durzak, grew envious of his brethren’s power and coveted the throne for himself. In a treacherous act, Durzak allied himself with the dark forces they once fought against, leading to a devastating civil war known as the War of Brothers.
The War of Brothers was a long and kingdom-shattering conflict among the dwarven lords. Fueled by betrayal and fueled by Durzak’s thirst for power, it left the once-mighty dwarven kingdom in ruins. The war lasted for years, tearing apart the fabric of dwarven society as clans turned against one another.
Durzak’s Banishment: Despite the War of Brothers tearing the dwarven kingdom apart, leaving it fractured and weakened, Durzak’s plans were eventually foiled by the other dwarven lords, and they managed to imprison Durzak. In a desperate act to save their people, the remaining four dwarven lords enacted a powerful ritual known as the Sundering, sealing Durzak and his followers deep within the earth.
In the end, the brothers were scattered, their bonds shattered, and the kingdom lay in ruins, a mere shadow of its former glory.
The Shattered Kingdom
In the wake of the disaster, the once-mighty dwarven kingdom lay in ruins. The survivors, now scattered and displaced, formed isolated clans and settlements in distant lands, clinging to their traditions and memories of their lost homeland.
Only the followers of Thurin Stoneheart remained in the original dwarven homeland as the followers of the other three brothers settled in distant lands.
